April 23, 2018- April 27, 2018
The 3rd and 4th grade classes will review and refresh basic math skills, Whole numbers, Fractions, and Decimals. We will also review problems dealing with Money, Time, Temperature, and Ratio/Proportion. These reviews will be done over 2 weeks period.
In Science this week and the first three days of next week we will continue working on science fair presentations Verbal and Written. Each student is required to speak clearly about knowledge achieved as related to their Topic, Scientific Method, Experimental Design, and Poster board.

April 09, 2018 - April 13, 2018
The 3rd and 4th grade students will apply their understanding of the relationship of metric units to customary units (English) and vice versa. We will use the conversion tables and solve measurement problems to enhance critical thinking as well as basic math skills.
The 3rd and 4th grade student will continue working on portion of their science fair projects. They will differentiate between a science experiment and a science project. They will also document and know their topic, question, hypothesis, materials and will have started their lab set-up ( procedure and partial observation).

03/05/2018 - 03/09/2018
The 3rd and 4th grade classes will begin studying the Customary( English) units of length, mass and capacity. Each student will learn to read a ruler to the nearest half, fourth, eighth, and sixteenth inch and use measurement data to make a line plot. They will also convert a small unit of measure to a large unit of measure and visa versa.
Sunday, February 25, 2018
2/26/2018 - 03/02/2018
The 3rd and 4th grade classes will learn the relationship between time units (seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years). They will use models to compare time units as well as use strategies to draw diagrams to solve elapsed time problems. Each student will learn the rules/steps to convert a small unit of time measure to a large unit of time measure and visa versa.

February 12, 2018 - February 16, 2018
The 3rd and 4th grade classes will continue problem solving through recognition and classification of angles and geometric figures, as well as solve for perimeter and area of triangles/ rectangles. We will also refresh mastery skills, enabling each student to achieve confidence and competence. This mastery will be accomplish with the use of math quizzes, math charts, board work and the IXL Math Program.
Sunday, February 4, 2018
February 5, 2018 - February 9, 2018
The 3rd and 4th grade classes will continue to identify and construct polygons by sides and angles, as well as determining if the sides are parallel, intersecting or perpendicular. We will continue solving for the perimeter of triangles and rectangles. Intermittently we will review the fundamental operations of whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
